* “The Funner the Better” Spelling, Grammar, & Usage Tips & Tricks Blog

Did you catch it? Funner is not a word.  It is not in the dictionary.  Of course, it’s a conceivable concept that someone famous will make “funner” into a tagline or enough people will start using it so that “funner” does become a word.  Until then, however, you should not use “funner” unless you’re cracking a joke like my pathetic title line for this blog.  =P

Unfortunately, there’s not a super-easy or super fun way of which I know to help us learn the rule that “funner” is not a word and should not be used. There are a lot of other tricks, though, that help us to learn when we can and cannot use certain words, how we can and cannot use certain punctuation, and so on.

If you know of a tip or trick that can help us with spelling, grammar, or usage, please post it in a comment below. Remember: the more fun the tip or trick, the better! =)

  1.   Jamie Lynn =] Says:

    I before E
    Except after C
    Or when sounded like “A”
    As in neighbor and weigh

My favorite rhyme, though not many know the entire thing.
    Hope it helps!
