☺ Rules for Posting Comments
1. You should use your first name and last initial (Mary S.) when posting comments. Please, no last names, addresses, IM screen names, etc. This is for your protection and the protection of other classmates.
2. Do not link to your personal blog or Myspace page from your school blog; you might reveal information on there that you don’t want to reveal to people visiting this site.
3. If you want to express your opinion on a topic, please don’t be offensive as you write it. Keep in mind that what we write ons creen doesn’t always come across the way we mean it.
4. Please check your post for spelling errors, grammar errors, and your use of words. After all, this is an English class website.
5. Never disrespect someone else in your posting, whether it’s a person, an organization, or just a general idea. You don’t want someone making a stab at what you are passionate about; don’t do it to someone else.
6. Watch your language! This is part of our school community. Language that is inappropriate in school is also inappropriate in this blog.
7. Make sure things you write about are factual. Don’t post about things that aren’t true. Link to your sources.
8. Keep it education-oriented. That means that you probably shouldn’t discuss your plans for the weekend, Friday’s football game, etc.

So, i know im not your actual student anymore, and since i cant get a hold of my actual teacher… i was wondering if you could tell me…. you know how you underline a book. right? like, “Discrimination plays a key role, and seen repeatedly throughout Picture Bride* and Night*.” *underlined. do you underline everytime you say the books?

Hi, Autumne.
Okay–we don’t underline titles anymore unless we’re writing by hand. Instead, italicize. You do that by highlighting the word and clicking the little cursive-looking “i” or holding down control I at the same time. Yes, you italicize book titles every time you mention them in your paper.
