District Goals

As a Caesar Rodney High School teacher, I am proud to work towards fulfilling my district’s goals.  You may view the goals via the district’s website.  For your convenience, I have also copied and pasted them below:

Mission Statement

Recognizing the value of each individual, and building upon our commitment to excellence, the Caesar Rodney School District is dedicated to the mission of preparing students for a successful, productive and purposeful life in a diverse, global community by:

  • Providing quality educational opportunities for all students; and
  • Promoting caring attitudes through the school community.

Long Range Goals

  • Achieve and maintain a Commendable or Superior rating for all schools and the District in the Delaware School Accountability System.
  • Continue to provide quality curriculum and instructional opportunities for all students to enable them to meet State standards.
  • Maintain a safe environment in an atmosphere of caring discipline.
  • Provide opportunities that encourage a partnership of families, staff members, students, and the community.
  • Maintain a strong financial position necessary to support the needs of the District.

2007-08 Key Priorities

  • Actively engage parents and community members at the school and the District levels.
  • Organize a District Strategic Plan Committee and begin the strategic planning process.
  • Expand professional development opportunities for all staff on how assessment can be used to drive instruction, create increased student achievement, and promote standards-based grading.
  • Meet or exceed the Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) targets and State Progress Determination (SPD) goals in all core content areas in the school accountability system, with emphasis on the special education cell.
  • Continue to develop programs which reduce student achievement gaps.
  • Implement the 21 st Century Learning Center Grant at Fifer and Postlethwait Middle Schools.
  • Plan for the renovations of the McIlvaine Early Childhood Center and develop a plan to implement all-day kindergarten.
  • Explore best practices in the hiring and retention of a diverse and highly qualified staff.
