READING COMPREHENSION

A humongous thank-you goes out to Candy Young-Sanders, Head Coach of Delaware State University’s Women’s Cross Country Team.  She worked with other coaches and athletes of our local Hornet’s to assist us on reading comprehension.  Our first “session” was held Friday, Nov. 20, and was comprised of eighteen young men and women athletes from the university who worked as guest speakers to motivate us and help us stay focused.  These athletes represented members and Coach Becton of the Tennis Team, a big group from both Women’s Soccer and Women’s Softball, and many women from Coach Young-Sanders’ Women’s Cross Country team.  The day was a resounding success!  Pictures from one of the class periods (we didn’t have a camera later on!) can be found on our Photos page here.  I will keep working with Coach Young-Sanders and hope to see more student athletes and coaches on Thursday, Dec. 10, for a second reading comprehension session.
