Option 1: Free MicroSoft Word and Excel

This program is a lightweight Micro$oft Word and Excel program.  It has spell checking, grammar checking and other important features.  You can download it here

You have to be careful when you save your work.  Make sure you follow these steps:

1. File
2. Save As  (NOT Save!)
3. Microsoft Word 97/2000 (*.doc)

Option 2:  Free Version of Micro$oft Office, including PowerPoint

OpenOffice- 100% free alternative to Micro$oft Office Suite. The only problem you may have is opening a document here at school. Just make sure you click “Save as…” instead of “Save” and you should be fine.
