☺ About Miss Lee

Background

I moved to Delaware from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in order to live closer to my family. In Pennsylvania, I had earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in English Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania–better known as IUP. I transferred my certification to Delaware, where I am now certified and highly qualified to teach English / Language Arts in grades 9 through 12.

Professional

The 2008-2009 school year is my third year in the Caesar Rodney community. I “loop,” which means I work with the same group of students for two years: first as freshmen, and then as sophomores. This year, I will be working with freshman English: Eng. 9 Introduction to Literature. I love teaching English because every single topic we explore gives my students a better chance to prepare for life on all levels. Literature enables me to help students reach inside of themselves, reflect, and connect with the real world. Through writing, students learn how to express themselves to a variety of audiences, although our toughest audience is sometimes ourselves.

On an extracurricular level, I co-sponsor the Class of 2010. I would also like to restart the Debate Club after school if enough students demonstrate interest.

.

Personal

In my spare time, I listen to music (mostly rock, classic rock, alternative, punk, and some r & b), play tennis, kayak, fish, ski, read, and play with my handsome kitty, Leo Tolstoi. I was heavily involved in martial arts until I moved to DE–I earned my black belt in Tang Soo Do and hope to rejoin the martial arts world soon.
